Calder: A Changed Life
Created on the occasion of the exhibition ‘Calder: François Premier’ at our Paris gallery, watch a film that follows Alexander Calder's return to France in 1953 and 1954, a period of creative freedom and innovation that opened new possibilities for his work. Through photographs, artworks and reflections from his grandson Alexander S. C. Rower and Rosalie Varda, whose mother Agnès Varda befriended and photographed the artist, explore the creative discoveries, places and friendships that shaped this pivotal chapter.
