Pipilotti Rist in conversation with Massimiliano Gioni
Artist Pipilotti Rist was live from her studio, catching up with long-time friend Massimiliano Gioni, curator and Artistic Director of the New Museum. Their discussion covered Rist’s approach to exhibition making in relation to her upcoming exhibition at MOCA in Los Angeles and previous solo shows at Louisiana, the New Museum and the Trussardi Foundation, among others. The conversation is part of ‘Celebrating Basel Basel’, Hauser & Wirth’s online project for the 50th anniversary of Art Basel.
Pipilotti Rist, a pioneer of spatial video art, was born in Grabs in the Swiss Rhine Valley on the Austrian Border and has been a central figure within the international art scene since the mid-1980s.
Massimiliano Gioni is the Artistic Director of the New Museum, New York and Artistic Director of Fondazione Nicola Trussardi, Milano.
