From 22 September, the Rhoades gallery will transform into an evening Filmhaus as part of ‘GRUPPENAUSSTELLUNG.’

Full-length feature films that reflect themes explored by our artists’ work and Education Lab will be screened fortnightly on Friday evenings from 6.30 pm, in partnership with Roth Bar & Grill.

Spanning a range of recent releases, artist-led productions and documentaries, these new films will be announced each month, with additional family screenings over October half-term and the Christmas holidays.

Oudolf Field

Piet Oudolf, the internationally-renowned landscape designer from the Netherlands, has designed the landscaping scheme for the entire site, including Oudolf Field – a large perennial meadow situated behind the gallery buildings.

Carefully shaped and planted, the garden echoes the tradition of classical gardens, but the variety of species and combination of plants creates a looseness, softening the formality of its appearance. Known for his use of plants with spectacular seed heads, Oudolf has created a garden that has interest year round.

At the top of Oudolf Field sits the Radić Pavilion. Designed by Chilean architect Smiljan Radić, it was installed at Hauser & Wirth Somerset in March 2015, following its unveiling the previous year as the Serpentine Gallery 2014 Pavilion.

The garden is open Tuesday – Sunday, 10 am – 5 pm. Entrance is free, although we encourage visitors to donate to our chosen charity.

Shop & Restaurant

Gallery Shop

The gallery shop offers a selection of books and gifts inspired by our current exhibitions, Hauser & Wirth artist collaborations and products relating to Oudolf Field.

We have a dedicated bookshop to Hauser & Wirth Publishers, with titles from the gallery’s 30-year history. Artists’ voices, exceptional art, scholarship, design and bookmaking are at the heart of our publishing program.

The gallery shop is open Tuesday – Sunday, 10 am – 5 pm.

Flame, food, community and art are at the heart of Roth Bar & Grill. Connecting farmer, butcher, forager, chef and guest, this informal eating and drinking place celebrates seasonal and local ingredients cooked over a fire, within a vibrant contemporary art setting.

Designed by Argentinian architect Luis Laplace, at the restaurant’s core is a site-specific bar, created by longterm friends of Hauser & Wirth, Björn and Oddur Roth, the son and grandson of artist Dieter Roth. The restaurant interior combines an open kitchen with a wood-fired grill & spit, while the walls are adorned with an array of artworks that intertwine the themes of food, animals and countryside. Adjoining the restaurant is a light & airy tented orangery.

Roth Bar & Grill opens at 10 am, Monday – Sunday.

Farm Shop & Farmhouse

Durslade Farm Shop celebrates the best growers, farmers and makers Somerset has to offer, as well as the produce from the surrounding Durslade Farm.

The farm shop is passionate about promoting and sharing local talent, supporting small projects with big futures, as well as working with established producers to create special products that you can only find in the farm shop. With its own in-house forager and butcher, Durslade Farm Shop showcases truly seasonal produce.

Durslade Farm Shop is open 7 days a week from 9 am.

The six bedroom renovated farmhouse is available for private stays, featuring a number of artworks and site-specific installations by our artists. Durslade Farmhouse is located on the site of Hauser & Wirth Somerset and forms part of a group of Grade II listed buildings that date back from as early as 1760.

Renovated by Argentinian architect Luis Laplace, the farmhouse is full of character and bold innovative twists. It celebrates the natural antiquity of the building by combining original fittings with unexpected interiors and vintage furniture. It is completed by unique artworks from Hauser & Wirth’s artists, including a specially commissioned painted mural in the dining room by Guillermo Kuitca.
