Film Screening: ‘Louise Bourgeois: The Spider, the Mistress and the Tangerine’

To celebrate our exhibition ‘Louise Bourgeois. Drawing Intimacy 1939 – 2010’, Hauser & Wirth Somerset is delighted to present a screening of ‘Louise Bourgeois: The Spider, the Mistress and the Tangerine’ (2008), a film by Marion Cajori and Amei Wallach.

This critically acclaimed film features a series of interviews with the artist from 1993 – 2007. It offers an intimate look into Bourgeois’s life and imagination, shaping a powerful portrait of one of the most influential artists of 20th Century.

Please note, the film screening is not taking place at the gallery and instead is a short walk away at King’s Bruton. Welcome drinks will be served at 6.30 pm, with the screening starting promptly at 7 pm**. To coincide with the event, the galleries will be staying open late until 6.30 pm.**

About the exhibition  ‘Louise Bourgeois. Drawing Intimacy 1939 – 2010’ is an extraordinary grouping of works from the artist’s private collection. The paintings, sculpture and works on paper, many of which are exhibited publicly for the first time, reflect Bourgeois’s multiplicity of mind and material. The exhibition is on view at Hauser & Wirth Somerset until Monday 2 January 2023.
