Join Mark Wallinger and Donna De Salvo, Whitney Museum of American Art’s Deputy Director and Senior Curator, for an exhibition walkthrough of ‘Study for Self Reflection,’ on view at Hauser & Wirth New York, 22nd Street through 27 October.

One of Britain’s foremost contemporary artists, Wallinger is recognized for his rich and complex body of work, which spans painting, sculpture, installation, printmaking, video, performance, and photography. The works on view in this exhibition extend Wallinger’s career-long engagement with ideas of power, authority, artifice, and illusion. Furthermore, the theme of reflection is central to Wallinger’s oeuvre; the artist deploys it to probe questions about the psyche and the self, and to challenge our attachment to our identities and the socio-cultural mechanisms that inform them.
