CinemArt Screening: Peggy Guggenheim: Art Addict

As Peggy Guggenheim moved through the cultural upheaval of the 20th-century, she became a central figure in modern art. She collected art and met many renowned artists including Samuel Beckett, Max Ernst, Jackson Pollock, Alexander Calder, Marcel Duchamp. While fighting through personal tragedy, she maintained her vision to build one of the most important collections of modern art, now enshrined in her Venetian palazzo. CinemArt is a film series presented by Hauser & Wirth in collaboration with the Cinéma Rex in Pontresina. A special programme open to the public will offer unique insights into the lives and work of significant international contemporary and modern artists, including a selection connected to Hauser & Wirth’s roster. This cinematic programme is centred around Hauser & Wirth St. Moritz’s current exhibition ‘Material Actions’ and will primarily focus on female artists from the exhibition, such as Ida Applebroog and Jenny Holzer. Other featured artists and well-known personalities from the art world include Eva Hesse and Peggy Guggenheim.
