Arte Povera. Curated by Ingvild Goetz Book Lab

Past 12 Sep - 28 Oct 2017 New York

About

Arte Povera. Curated by Ingvild Goetz‘ is complemented by a Book Lab located on the 3rd floor of Hauser & Wirth’s 22nd Street gallery. A wealth of publications, rare invitation cards and archival materials selected by Ingvild Goetz are on display in bookcases within the gallery space. These materials provide important insight into the development and reception of Arte Povera. Drawn from this extensive display, a selection of perusable books on the table — with publication dates ranging from 1969 to 2016 — explore Arte Povera through overarching texts on the movement; monographs on major artists in the exhibition, including but not limited to Giovanni Anselmo, Luciano Fabro, Jannis Kounellis and Michelangelo Pistoletto; and texts on the photographers who simultaneously documented and shaped the movement.
