This summer, Hauser & Wirth Menorca and NOWNESS will present a festival of short films over five evenings in July and August. The program will span art & photography, nature & gardens, design & architecture, and dance & fashion. Each evening’s screening features up to an hour of short films that premiered on global video channel Nowness. The festival will provide a unique opportunity to revisit these diverse films in the context of the art centre and current exhibition, ‘Directionless’, investigating how art making and storytelling can provide new points of navigation and inspiration in a time of uncertainty.
Summer Film Festival Dates and Themes:

About Hauser & Wirth Menorca
At Hauser & Wirth Menorca, art, education and conservation meet in the natural setting of Illa del Rei, an island in Mahon harbour. Since opening in 2021, the art centre has presented ambitious exhibitions and outdoor sculpture accompanied by a dedicated public program and space for learning. A garden by the Dutch landscape designer Piet Oudolf runs alongside the gallery buildings, incorporating native perennials and plants suited to the Mediterranean climate. Adjacent to the gallery is Cantina, a lively eatery focusing on local produce. The outdoor restaurant offers a menu which pays homage to Menorcan cuisine, to be enjoyed under the shade of an live-tree forest. The gallery shop is found in the same building as Cantina, presenting art publications and crafts by local makers. The art centre has welcomed over 330,000 visitors and held over 500 events and group visits, in addition to welcoming over 439 education and special interest visits with 22,000 participants.
