Hauser & Wirth Returns to Printed Matter’s NY Art Book Fair

10 April 2024

Hauser & Wirth Publishers will be participating in Printed Matter’s NY Art Book Fair, April 25–28, 2024. Please visit us at booth A2 at 548 West 22nd Street.

During the fair, we invite you to stop by our gallery at 443 West 18th Street to explore our new titles ‘Eva Hesse: Exhibitions, 1972–2022,’ ‘Mark Bradford: Process Collettivo,’ and ‘Dieter Roth in My Life: Memories,’ Issue 10 of the gallery’s magazine, ‘Ursula,’ and other recent publications.

Throughout the course of the weekend we will be offering 20% off of Hauser & Wirth Publishers titles in-person at the fair and at our 18th Street bookshop. Please also join us for complimentary coffee in the Roth Bar at our West 18th Street location.

Saturday 27 April, 12 – 1 pm

Please join Hauser & Wirth Publishers in collaboration with Printed Matter and Book Works for a special reading of poems by Cecilia Vicuña and Jena Osman, on the occasion of the NY Art Book Fair and the release of the new, expanded facsimile edition of Vicuña’s ‘Saborami’ from Book Works.

Cecilia Vicuña created ‘Saborami’ in the aftermath of the September 1973 military coup in Chile. Combining poetry, journal entries and documentation of artworks, the book was published in Devon, England in a limited edition of hand-made copies by the artist-led Beau Geste Press. Though the book is highly regarded, it has also been hard to access.

This new and expanded facsimile edition restates ‘Saborami’ as a central example of artistic engagement in material and revolutionary resistance.

This event is free to attend; however, due to limited space, reservations are recommended.

Saturday 27 April, 4–6 pm
Please join us during Printed Matter's NY Book Fair to celebrate the release of Ursula Issue 10 featuring an ambitious new work on the cover by artist Pierre Huyghe.

The cover is accompanied by a conversation focusing on Huyghe’s prophetic work and the future of art and humanity. Other artists featured in the issue include Mark Bradford, Berlinde De Bruyckere, Zeng Fanzhi, Josh Kline, Verena Loewensberg, Anna Maria Maiolino, Mika Rottenberg and Wu Tsang, as well as playwright Will Arbery and poets Richard Hell and Fred Moten.

Each copy of the magazine includes an exclusive, limited-release seven-inch vinyl record, featuring two previously unreleased compositions from Caroline Shaw and Andrew Yee’s film score from Wu Tsang’s ‘Moby Dick; or, The Whale’.

Sunday 28 April, 12–5 pm
Hauser & Wirth Publishers, MACK, and SPBH Editions will present ‘ENCOUNTERS,’ a day of experimental performance and film in the gallery space, ampitheater, and Roth Bar.
