To celebrate our ongoing partnership with Nest Global, this workshop marks the beginning of our new partnership with Homeboy Art Academy, bringing together the three organizations through a shared commitment to accessible arts education and community impact.
Join us for this hands-on printmaking workshop and create your own custom bandana using pre-carved lino block stamps based on original designs by Homeboy Art Academy students.
This a free, drop-in event; while supplies last so please come early to participate. Registration helps us gather all the supplies and materials needed.
We advise all participants to wear old clothes. All ages welcome. Younger children are welcome if supervised by adults.
After the workshop, stay for KCRW’s Summer Nights with DJs spinning from 6 – 10 pm in the courtyard. Learn more.
About Nest Global
Nest Global is a Los Angeles-based international non-profit founded on the belief that all children, regardless of economic or geographic considerations, are entitled to an education that sparks curiosity, creativity and critical thinking.
The organization offers innovative education to children who live in refugee camps, migrant shelters, or in abject poverty through the creation of ‘Nests,’ or early learning spaces.
About Homeboy Art Academy
A division of Homeboy Industries (HBI), Homeboy Art Academy (HAA) strives to extend the mission of providing hope, training, and support to formerly gang-involved and previously incarcerated youth and adults, by securing a space in which the Arts can be the central modality to healing and transformation. Homeboy Art Academy challenges systems of oppression by centering life experiences and cultural knowledge of impacted communities to inspire transformation and reclaim self-agency.
