Family Garden Workshop: Summertime Corn

Get hands-on with the garden educators from Garden School Foundation. This June, explore the summertime warm season plant, corn.  At this all-ages workshop come learn about this versatile crop that has a deep history and variety of uses. Participate in a demonstration on how to make your own corn husk doll, and take home corn, beans, and squash seeds to start your own Three Sisters garden, which have been at the center of Native American agriculture and culinary traditions for centuries.

The Garden School Foundation is responsible for the teaching gardens at the 24th Street School in West Adams neighborhood of Los Angeles, along with six additional Title 1 elementary schools across the city.
