Family Saturday: The Big Draw

  • Sat 5 October 2019
  • 10 am – 12 pm

Hauser & Wirth Somerset invites families into the gallery for Family Saturdays on the first Saturday of every month. These free sessions offer families a unique experience of art, design and nature. Our October Family Saturday celebrates The Big Draw and takes as its inspiration the exhibition ‘David Smith. Field Work’. Children and their families are invited to take part in different drawing activities that respond to this years festival theme: ‘Drawn to Life’, which focuses on the vital role of creativity for our health and wellbeing.  The Big Draw is the world’s largest drawing festival with the goal of promoting visual literacy and art education. The annual event enables schools, libraries, museums, artists groups, local councils and many more centres to host drawing activities, connecting people of all ages with art, design, and each other. The Big Draw annually involves 1000+ organisers on seven continents, engaging around 400,000 people. The session is aimed at families with children 6 – 14 years. Younger children are welcome. All children must be supervised by parents or carers. This is a free event, however advanced booking is essential as there are limited places. To book, please email education@hauserwirth.com or call +44 (0) 1749 814 060.
