Open Source Salon – ‘On Making’ with Jacqueline Moore

  • Thu 18 July 2019
  • 6.30 – 9.30 pm

Jacqueline Moore, Director of Make Hauser & Wirth Somerset will host Open Source Salon accompanied by Natalie Melton, Creative Director at the Crafts Council, and Malaika Byng, Editor of Crafts Magazine.

They will explore contemporary making and the resurgence of interest in the crafted object, focusing their discussion on the value of the handmade as well as the approach and vision for the recently opened Make gallery. Whilst in conversation, guests will have the opportunity to handle, examine and interrogate objects and participate in an open Q&A. Make Hauser & Wirth Somerset is a destination for contemporary making and the crafted object, showcasing work from the best emerging and established makers both nationally and internationally. The gallery opened in September 2018 and presents approximately six exhibitions per year, some of which includes work created in response to Somerset and the South West, employing locally sourced materials. Open Source Salon is an intimate and unique evening of discussion and dining for like-minded creatives and enthusiasts.
