  • Thu 6 June 2019
  • 6.30 – 9.30 pm

We are delighted to welcome Jinny Blom, award-winning British landscape architect and gardener, to Hauser & Wirth Somerset. In her illustrated talk, Blom will discuss how gardens embody our love of nature and creativity, and that there is an urgent need to bring them to the fore of our lives. She will speak about her multidisciplinary design studio where she champions a predominately female team, and share stories about the 350+ gardens and landscapes she has created in the UK, Europe, Africa, Middle East and USA, including gardens for HRH Prince Charles’ and HRH Prince Harry’s charities at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. ‘Landscape gardening has always, for me, been a source of cultural, artistic, and philosophical depth,’ says Blom. ‘Gardens are a vital part of our collective cultural imperative.’ Jinny Blom is permanent Artist in Residence at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London and is in the final stages of completing the garden at The Fife Arms in Braemar, Scotland. She was awarded Woman of the Year in 2013, 2007 and 2002 for her contribution to society through her work. Her first book, ‘The Thoughtful Gardener: An Intelligent Approach to Garden Design’ has become an international bestseller.
