Somerset Summer Workshop: Fleece to Felt

Internationally renowned textile designer Liz Clay, leads this one-day workshop, where you will learn about all aspects of creating beautiful felt by hand. Taking inspiration from the surrounding plants and fauna you will investigate and transform sculptural forms into wearable art using simple two-dimensional patterns and hand felting techniques with beautiful hand dyed Mendip wools. Learn how to blend your own colours and create different structures and surfaces with the materials, whilst developing your own design ideas into unique sculptural forms and accessories. Liz Clay makes stunningly beautiful textiles. Her collections of exclusive hand felted accessories combine innovative design with superb craftsmanship. Working closely with clients from concept to creation within gallery, fashion and interiors, her aim is to celebrate and surprise, offering a completely new vision for hand felted material.
