‘This world is but a canvas to our imagination.’ Henry David Thoreau If you are aged 11 to 18 years old and interested in acting and theatre, come and take part in a Theatre Summer School run by Bristol Old Vic and Hauser & Wirth Somerset! Working with a Theatre Director from the Bristol Old Vic Theatre in the unique and inspirational setting of the new Hauser & Wirth gallery in Bruton, you will create a brand new piece of theatre inspired by the extraordinary sculptural work of Phyllida Barlow. The Theatre Summer School will take place over nine days and will invite participants to develop and create stories, characters and themes in response to the explosive colour and extraordinary forms of Barlow’s sculpture, and the different ways in which we each see the world. Working alongside the Bristol Old Vic’s professional team, you will learn and develop skills necessary to create and perform theatre – and all the ideas will be your own! This project will culminate in a ticketed public performance on the evening of Thursday 21 August at 6 pm. This event has now sold out.
