Somerset Autumn Workshops: Healing Herbs

  • Thu 6 November 2014
  • 10 am – 5 pm

Autumn is a time to start going inwards, for collecting treasures to help you through the dark months, for assimilating and discarding. Come and connect with the plants and trees in the woods above Durslade Farm and learn something about their properties. Learn to dowse using a pendulum, select your own personal flower essence combination to help you through the coming months and help in the distillation (using a copper column still) of roots collected from the woods for medicinal use. No previous knowledge is necessary. You will need to bring wellies and a coat as some of the day will be spent outdoors, a pen and paper/drawing materials if you wish and an open mind. You will leave with a personal flower essence combination, a bottle of the hydrosol we have distilled and a feeling of having connected with nature. The workshop will be led by Saskia Marjoram, who has been working with plants for her whole life, firstly as a professional gardener and then florist to HRH Prince of Wales and for the last 10 years as Director of Saskia’s Flower Essences. She has lived and worked for several years at a medicinal herb nursery and now works in the private garden of Iwan & Manuela Wirth. Tickets £90 to include refreshments and lunch from the Roth Bar & Grill
