This discussion brings together Ab Rogers, Luis Laplace and Guðmundur Oddur Magnússon – all of whom work across the interface between art, architecture and graphic design. In this talk, they will discuss recent projects they have been working on, and the benefits of collaboration. The discussion is chaired by freelance researcher and founder of the Architecture Club, Pippa Goldfinger. Ab Rogers is a London-based designer known for a wide-ranging practice informed by his lyrical imagination. In May 2012, Ab was made Head of the new Interior Design Programme at the Royal College of Art. Luis Laplace is founder of Laplace & Co, an architecture and design studio based in Paris. His work frequently engages directly with the art world, whether it is creating the interior of a Paris apartment for Cindy Sherman, incorporating a unique film piece by Pipilotti Rist into the design of a swimming pool at a villa in the South of France or a full-size Louise Bourgeois Maman (spider) into a drawing room. Guðmundur Oddur Magnússon is an Icelandic artist, and Professor at the Iceland Academy of the Arts, Department of Architecture and Design. He is a specialist in the use and reading of visual languages. Pippa Goldfinger is a freelance researcher for the Bridge 150 project, Bristol and founder of Architecture Club, Frome, a collaborative project initiated by Goldfinger, NVB / Rook Lane and RIBA South West. Architecture Club brings architects, architectural writers, engineers and planners to Frome in order to stimulate a wide-reaching debate.
