Christmas Open Studios and Pop-Up Shop

This December, Hauser & Wirth Somerset will be joining Bruton High Street in an evening of Christmas late-night shopping and festive fun. The Maltings studio space will extend it’s viewings hours of the touring exhibition, Soil Culture: Young Shoots, encouraging guests to come and explore the exhibition and the studios in which our artist residencies take place. At the other end of town we will be opening the doors of Stockwell House at 13 High Street for the very first time, showcasing an array of our favourite gallery and estate shop products from the past year. In addition to the open studios the Roth Bar & Grill will be based at The Maltings, serving hot dogs, winter soup, mulled wine, mulled Somerset cider and spiced apple juice. During the evening activities will line the streets for Bruton’s annual event of festive shopping, feasting and celebration of local businesses in the town centre. ‘Soil Culture: Young Shoots’ was conceived by the Centre for Contemporary Art and the Natural World, aimed at encouraging an exploration of the importance of soil through 12 artist residencies across the South West. The exhibition presents the results of these residencies and is part of a wider programme that will tour to host galleries and environmental organisations in the region.
