CUTMAS – Christmas Decorations Inspired by the Polish Wycinanki Tradition

  • Fri 11 December 2015
  • 10 am – 4 pm

Join this one-day workshop to discover traditional paper-cutting techniques and explore your own personal visual response to the Christmas season. In the morning we will work with paper and cardboard to make festive cuttings as decorations and in the afternoon we will make a wool felt festive table runner. You may wish to work with traditional images or want to explore the sharper edge of the season. This one-day course is led by Jackie Brooks who has worked for 25 years as a theatre designer and now enjoys the solitude of cutting alone and creating stories that are flat. She is the curator of Bruton Museum and worked as an assistant to Guillermo Kuitca at Durslade Farmhouse. All materials will be provided and no previous experience is necessary. Tickets are £90 and include lunch at the Roth Bar & Grill.
