Open Source Salon with Gavin Pretor-Pinney

  • Thu 1 February 2018
  • 6.30 pm

Spend the night with your heads in the clouds, as we marvel at their ephemeral beauty and attempt to decode the heavens. We are thrilled to welcome author and founder of the Cloud Appreciation Society, Gavin Pretor-Pinney, to Open Source Salon this February. Long-time advocate of idle pursuits, Gavin will look at how clouds express the atmosphere’s many moods and reveal complex connections in the natural world around us. Since 2004, the Cloud Appreciation Society has been fighting ‘blue-sky thinking’ by providing a platform for people who love the sky and clouds. Open Source Salon is a discussion group for like-minded creatives and enthusiasts who meet to exchange ideas, hear special guest speakers, and enjoy local food and drink. Each salon consists of a specially invited speaker who will share their unique knowledge and experience on one of the four key themes at the heart of Hauser & Wirth Somerset – Art, Architecture, Landscape, Food. Open Source Salon is a collaboration between Hauser & Wirth Somerset and Roth Bar & Grill. This edition of Open Source Salon is part of our events programme for the exhibition ‘The Land We Live In – The Land We Left Behind’.
