Roger will be bringing his own beloved herd, a mix of Toggenburg, British Alpine and Saanen goats, to Durslade Farm. Sometimes seen grazing in the grass farmyard where artist Fernando García-Dory and Hayatsu Architects have created a wooden pavilion – a functioning artwork – for the goats to climb on and socialise; you will also have the opportunity to try your hand at milking during one of our Goat Milking Demonstrations. These sessions are suitable for both adults and children.
Learn about separating your curds from your whey in our cheese making talks, where Roger will share his expertise on the different styles, milks and techniques involved in their production. White Lake Cheese are known for their innovation and experimentation – their facilities tailored for small batch production – and following the talk, you will have the opportunity to ask questions to inform your own cheese making projects. On Saturday the 3rd of March, the team will also be running a cheese tasting session where you can taste the White Lake Cheese range and pick some up for yourself.
Goat milking demonstrations will occur every 20 minutes from 10 am – 4 pm on the dates below, with an hours break from 1 – 2 pm. Cheese making talks are at 10 am, 11 am, 12 pm, 2 pm and 3 pm.
