Rashid Johnson

This April Hauser & Wirth Somerset is delighted to welcome Rashid Johnson as artist-in-residence in Bruton, ahead of his solo exhibition at the gallery, which opens on 27 May 2017.

Johnson is best known for his painting, film, sculpture and photography, using a wide range of materials and appropriated objects to explore themes of art history, literature, philosophy, and personal and cultural identity. His exhibition at Hauser & Wirth Somerset will unfold through all five gallery spaces, with a combination of painting, sculpture, installation and drawing, much of which will be inspired by, and created during his residency.
