Menorca’s Libraries Hosting Our Books and Learning Events This Winter

18 November 2022

Announcing a new partnership with local network of libraries Xarxa de Biblioteques

A varied program of learning events across Menorca’s nine libraries accompanies a donation of 56 books on sculpture and landscape. The initiative includes workshops, screenings and talks inspired by our artists and outdoor sculpture program.

The book selection expands the network’s art book collection and features titles in Catalan, Spanish and English for children and adults, including Hauser & Wirth Publishers titles ‘Eduardo Chillida: Escritos’, ‘Rashid Johnson: The Hikers’ and ‘Louise Bourgeois: The Spider and the Tapestries’, among others.

Accompanying the book donation, the libraries will host the screening of the documentary ‘Louise Bourgeois: The Spider, the Mistress and the Tangerine’, a talk by architect Luis Laplace who has led the conservation project and workshops by Menorcan artist and professor Tónia Coll influenced by Louise Bourgeois’s work with sewing. Alexander Calder’s iconic mobile sculptures inspire children’s workshops taking place in all libraries throughout the Christmas break.

In collaboration with Xarxa de Biblioteques de Menorca and Consell Insular de Menorca.
