548 W 22nd Street, New York
Hauser & Wirth Publishers is excited to announce its participation in Printed Matter’s New York Art Book Fair. Running from 13 – 16 October, the NYABF returns to its original venue of 548 West 22nd Street. On the occasion of this year’s fair, Hauser & Wirth Publishers will present three new titles: ‘Amy Sherald: The World We Make,’ ‘Maria Lassnig: The Biography’ and ‘Jack Whitten: Cosmic Soul.’ Join us at booth B8 to explore these new releases and a selection of favorite backlist publications, from biographies and monographs to artists’ books, artists’ writings and facsimiles.
Founded in 2006 by then Printed Matter Director AA Bronson, the NYABF was initiated as a new platform for artists, publishers and artists’ book enthusiasts, not only for the distribution of publications, but also as a space for community building and the circulation of ideas.
Coinciding with the NYABF, the exhibition ‘An Incomplete History of Printed Matter’s Art Book Fairs’ will open at Hauser & Wirth New York, 22nd Street on 13 October. Organized by Printed Matter and Darling Green in collaboration with Hauser & Wirth Publishers, the rich archival presentation will be on view directly next door to this year’s fair. ‘An Incomplete History of Printed Matter’s Art Book Fairs’ (13 – 29 October 2022) will assemble a chorus of personal anecdotes, conversations, documentation, print materials and ephemera to give a layered narrative account of the New York and Los Angeles Art Book Fairs since their founding.
