Teachers’ Private View

  • Tue 5 – Tue 12 October 2021
  • 5 – 6 pm

Join us for the opportunity to view ‘Thomas J Price. Thoughts Unseen’ at a private view for teachers and lecturer.

Gallery Educator, Briony Brickell, will lead the tour and discussion, including the opportunity to visit the Eduardo Chillida exhibition.

Thomas J Price’s multidisciplinary practice confronts preconceived public attitudes towards representation and identity. Price challenges power structures that govern our society whilst examining learnt behaviour that guides our unconscious. His inaugural exhibition with Hauser & Wirth in Somerset, presents two decades of conceptual enquiry spanning film, early sculpture, and the artist’s largest figurative bronze to date. His personal approach readdresses historic narratives and inverts our sense of familiarity, distilling signifiers of status to question the mechanisms in place that reinforce our cultural values.

This event is free, however it is only available to teaching staff and booking is essential.
