Somerset Autumn Workshop: Printing Without a Press

  • Fri 21 November 2014
  • 10 am – 5 pm

Taking the garden at Hauser & Wirth Somerset as inspiration, this one-day workshop explores how to produce a print without a press, using different methods of relief printing to create a visual response to Oudolf Field and the landscape beyond. You will be taught how to build up prints with layers of imagery, using water-based inks and Japanese paper, all printed by hand. We will start by researching images in the garden, so please dress for the weather. This event is suitable for beginners and experienced printmakers. The workshop is led by Penny Grist, printmaking lecturer at Bath Spa University. She has exhibited her prints in many exhibitions, especially in the South West and has recently returned from an Erasmus exchange to Stockholm, where she worked in the printmaking studios at The Royal Institute of Art. This event has now sold out.
