DIY Gamer Workshop

  • Thu 6 August 2015
  • 10 am – 4 pm

This subsidised, technology based, workshop, inspired by the work of Jenny Holzer, will teach children how to build their own games console using their own Arduino Micro Controller, which they will get to take home with them at the end of the day. During the morning session, the children will be introduced to soldering, electronic components and circuits, to create their own gamer. In the afternoon they will learn to create their own scrolling text animations, working together to create a group performance on the gamer screens to display a message. This workshop is suitable for children aged 10 years and upwards. No previous experience is necessary, and all materials will be provided. Children should bring a packed lunch.
