Sculpting Workshop with Dorcas Casey

This is a special workshop for schools aimed at Key Stage 2 pupils. Pupils and their teachers will join sculptor Dorcas Casey for an interactive tour of the exhibition ‘Elisabeth Frink. Transformation’ followed by a practical workshop introducing them to some of the methods that Frink used, such as learning how to sculpt onto an armature using plaster. All materials and resources will be provided. Pupils should bring their own packed lunch. There are 20 places available and cost is £5 per pupil. Dorcas Casey studied at Winchester School of Art and works as a sculptor based in Jamaica Street Studios in Bristol. She is a member of the Royal British Society of Sculptors, having been awarded a bursary from them in 2013. She won the Public Speaks Award in the Broomhill National Sculpture Prize and her work features in the book The Language of Mixed Media Sculpture published in 2014. Recently she exhibited her work at Banksy’s Dismaland in Weston-Super-Mare and has been selected for this years Columbia Threadneedle prize exhibition in London.
