Schools Workshop: Printmaking

These are special workshops for schools aimed at Key Stage 3 pupils. Pupils and their teachers will join artist George Cole for an interactive tour of the exhibition ‘Rashid Johnson. Stranger’,followed by a practical workshop. During the session, pupils will have the opportunity to explore the themes in Johnson’s work and be introduced to some of the methods he uses, such as printmaking and painting. All materials and resources will be provided. Pupils should bring their own packed lunch. There is no charge for teachers. George Cole studied Fine Art at Falmouth and University of Wales School of Art and is a practicing artist and teacher. His most recent exhibition was a series of landscape paintings called Wild Rivers of Dartmoor, 2016, on show in Devon. As well as landscape painting, George is currently working on a mixed-media installation piece exploring identity through Ancient South American Mezcala figures. He is one of the founders of an Art Collective called United Through Art who support young creative talent across the UK. 20 places available. £5.00 per child All children should be accompanied by teaching staff.
