Throughout October, Hauser & Wirth held events for The Big Draw Festival 2022 across 8 of our locations around the world. Chillida Leku, Hong Kong, London, Los Angeles, Menorca, Monaco, Somerset and Zurich all offered free creative activities for families, schools and communities that engaged with drawing and responded to the collective theme ‘Come Back to Colour’. The theme invited participants to rediscover the vitality and vibrancy in everyone’s lives after what has been a challenging few years.
A new neon work by acclaimed British artist Martin Creed, ‘Work No. 3485 EVERYTHING IS GOING TO BE ALRIGHT’, is lighting up the façade of the Gstaad Palace in Switzerland. The installation is organized by Hauser & Wirth and the Gstaad Palace in an ongoing collaboration, installing iconic artworks by artists from the gallery’s roster since 2019. This year’s special public display is made possible with the generous support of Alex Hank.
Since the beginning of his career, Martin Creed has numbered rather than named his pieces, starting, cryptically enough, out of order, with ‘Work No. 3’ (1986), instead of No. 1.
Interviewer Carrie Scott asks Turner Prize winner Martin Creed what is the point of it all, at Miami Beach EDITION hotel. A twist on the coaxing, cajoling tradition of interviewing prevalent in art and fashion journalism, our 'In Your Face' interview series pits interviewer against interviewee in a collection of confrontational conversations. With subjects drawn from the worlds of art, fashion and celebrity this series pushes the boundaries of a typical interview into a one-on-one face off.
