Zoe Leonard has been invited to take part in the 61st International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia, in ‘In Minor Keys’ curated by Koyo Kouoh. Leonard will be participating as part of a collective project titled ‘arms ache avid aeon: Chapter Nine.’ Conceived by Jo-ey Tang, it brings the individual work of each of the four members of the artist collective fierce pussy—Nancy Brooks Brody (1962 – 2023), Joy Episalla, Zoe Leonard and Carrie Yamaoka—into dialogue with their collective practice.
‘arms ache avid aeon’ has been ongoing for the last 10 years and is structured as a series of Chapters, each unique but all connected. The most recent Chapter was at Participant (spring 2025), as well as ‘Expose*es’ at the Palais de Tokyo in 2023, celebrating Elisabeth Lebovici's book ‘Ce que le sida m’a fait.’ Earlier Chapters were held at the ICA in Philadelphia and the Beeler in Columbus, Ohio.
The 61st International Art Exhibition ‘In Minor Keys’ is on view from 9 May through 22 November 2026, featuring 111 invited participants—among them, individual artists, collaborative duos, collectives and artist-led organisations—from many different geographies and regions.
