Inner City Law Center In 2017, Hauser & Wirth Los Angeles began a partnership with Cal State LA’s Television, Film, and Media Department to co-develop an ongoing project titled Community Impact Media to encourage diversity in filmmaking, and to highlight the important work being done by non-profit organizations in Los Angeles. As part of the 2019 fall semester for Community Impact Media, Hauser & Wirth Los Angeles was introduced to Inner City Law Center; a nonprofit law firm providing free legal services, and access to safe and habitable housing for the enormous number of homeless and working-poor families and individuals residing in Los Angeles’ inner city neighborhoods. In an effort to learn more about Inner City Law Center’s work to end homelessness and slum housing conditions, participating Hauser & Wirth staff toured the Skid Row neighborhood, guided by experienced leaders from the nonprofit law firm as well as a current resident of the Skid Row community. Hauser & Wirth Los Angeles has also participated in Inner City Law Center’s Back-to-School drive, facilitated by their initiative  Homeful.LA. The Inner City Law Center documentary created in the fall 2019 semester of Community Impact Media, and directed by Cal State LA student, Kaitlin Ragland, showcases not only the impactful work being done by this nonprofit, but also highlights the talents of the budding filmmakers emerging out of Cal State LA who are using their art to make Los Angeles and the world better.
