Discover the history of chocolate with Maite Gomez-Rejon of ArtBites. Learn about the journey of the prized cacao pod from its origins as a drink for Mayan and Aztec nobility and subsequent popularity among European aristocrats, to the present day candy bar and the confection’s role in contemporary art. After the talk, participate in a tasting of Milla Chocolates and sample a selection of traditional Mexican cacao-based drinks complemented by Manuela’s Grist & Toll whole grain churritos.
