Carving Workshop for Children

  • Fri 7 August 2015
  • 10 am – 4 pm

This highly creative workshop for children has been programmed to complement the exhibition ‘Jenny Holzer. Softer Targets’. Starting the day in Oudolf Field, the workshop begins by using drawing to explore organic forms. This will be followed by a session working in clay and finally carving in stone as the children consider some of the techniques used in Jenny Holzer’s work. Children will learn to use the tools of the carver and be guided throughout by skilled stone carver Thomas Kenrick, who will lead the session. All participants will leave with their own creations. This workshop is suitable for children aged 10 years and upwards. No previous experience is necessary, and all materials will be provided. Children should bring a packed lunch. Tickets are £25.
