Summer Workshop: Silver Clay Jewellery

  • Sat 18 August 2018
  • 10 am

10 am – 4 pm This one day workshop exploring jewellery making provides you with the perfect space to learn a new technique and to make a beautifully hand crafted gift or keepsake for yourself.

Working with a contemporary medium called Silver Clay© you will have the opportunity to produce a number of components that will then be constructed into silver earrings and a necklace. The workshop is led by Chris Pate who has been designing and making jewellery for 18 years. She works from her studio in Somerset where she also teaches. Pate works with traditional materials and a new innovative material called metal clay. She is passionate about the benefits of a creative practice to a person’s well-being and about developing potential in others. As a result of this she has formed a Guild of Contemporary Jewellers; a group of talented designers and makers who work and exhibit together, and of which she is a member.

Her inspiration comes from nature, memories and life experiences. Her work is fluid and organic with soft lines and surfaces. She is particularly concerned with the finish of a piece which she believes is as important as the design and making process itself. All materials including metal clay and a silver chain, as well as lunch at Roth Bar & Grill are included in the ticket price. This workshop is suitable for ages 18 +. Tickets £130
