In celebration of ‘Christina Quarles. The Ground Glows Black,’ join us at Hauser & Wirth Downtown Los Angeles for a life drawing workshop led by artist Christina Quarles, who began her practice by learning through and participating in figure drawing sessions.
This workshop will include a series of figurative drawing exercises that explore the many ways artists engage with the human figure. The session will begin with an introduction to Quarles’ practice, followed by a guided workshop featuring a live model. Complimentary drawing materials will be provided; however, participants are welcome to bring any of the following:
Newsprint paper (18 x 24 inches or larger)
Vine, Willow, and/or Compressed Charcoal
Drawing Boards
Please arrive promptly at 11 am for check-in ahead of the session, which begins at 11.30 am.
This workshop experience is intimate, and space is limited to up to 30 participants. Tickets are $20 each. The event is designed for adults. Participants ages 12 and over may attend if accompanied by an adult who is also registered for the workshop. All workshop proceeds will be donated to the organization My Tribe Rise.
