Join us to celebrate the opening of our exhibition on Emma Kunz at Hauser & Wirth Somerset.

Emma Kunz (1892 – 1963) was a Swiss artist, researcher and healer whose visionary drawings are renowned for their intricate geometric structures and exploration of the relationship between nature, energy fields and human consciousness.

Kunz considered herself first and foremost a researcher, using her drawings as tools for diagnosis, reflection and investigation alongside her healing practice. Her artworks emerged from a deeply holistic approach, using graph paper, colored pencil and pendulum-guided methods to create works that merged intuitive inquiry and visual experimentation. Although she did not identify as an artist during her lifetime, Kunz is now recognized as a pioneering figure whose interdisciplinary practice anticipated many contemporary concerns around spirituality and ecology.

On view from Saturday 7 November 2026 – Sunday 4 April 2027, the exhibition is conceived in partnership with the Emma Kunz Foundation.

The gallery will be open from 12 – 4 pm, with live music and complimentary drinks available in the Cloister Courtyard throughout the day. Food from the team at Da Costa can be purchased from 12 – 4 pm.

Coinciding with the opening celebrations, the Learning team will be facilitating a drop-in drawing activity reflecting on the artist’s process in the Implement Shed from 12 – 4 pm.

The Farm Shop will be open from 9 am, with the garden being accessible to visitors from 10 am. Da Costa will be taking lunch reservations in the restaurant from 12 pm.

Tickets are free, but we ask that you register in advance so we can understand visitor numbers. If you are able, we encourage donations to our 2026 – 2027 charity partner Forest of Selwood.
