Located in the heart of West Hollywood, the gallery occupies the former site of a vintage automobile sales showroom distinctive for its 1930s Spanish Colonial Revival style of Hollywood’s Golden Age. The location has been transformed into a 6,000 square foot exhibition space by architect Annabelle Selldorf of Selldorf Architects. As of 2024, the gallery achieved LEED® Platinum certification, reserved for buildings that demonstrate leadership in sustainability.

We are pleased to announce that the gallery will extend its longstanding West Coast presence with a new space in Northern California. Located in Palo Alto, this new Bay Area site will complement our robust program in Los Angeles, where we opened our Downtown LA Arts District complex in 2016 and a second location in West Hollywood in 2023.
Our Palo Alto location is expected to open in Spring 2026.
This spring, Los Angeles-based artist Charles Gaines paused city life for the English countryside as our artist-in-residence. With a diverse practice that spans photography, drawing, installation and music, Gaines’ focus shifted to writing. Alongside an essay for his forthcoming ‘Collected Writings’ publication, to be released in 2026, Gaines worked on a new music composition as part of his Manifesto series. The composition examines the rulings from two landmark US Supreme Court cases and was performed in a special preview at our West Hollywood space, marking the end of his exhibition ‘Numbers and Trees: The Tanzania Baobabs.’
Located in the heart of West Hollywood, the gallery's second LA location occupies the site of a vintage automobile sales showroom where a white stucco façade and red tile roofing typify the distinctive 1930s Spanish Colonial Revival style of Hollywood’s Golden Age. The location has been transformed into a 6,000 square foot exhibition space by architect Annabelle Selldorf of Selldorf Architects. It will welcome Angelenos at the crossroads of the Design District, ‘Historic Boys Town’ and Beverly Hills. With vaulted wood truss ceilings and expansive windows onto the street, this new site encourages synergy between the gallery’s program and the bustling energy of the lively cafes, legendary music venues, and leading interior design and retail boutiques that make West Hollywood a famously vibrant and storied creative center. In 2024, Hauser & Wirth West Hollywood earned LEED® Platinum certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, reinforcing the gallery’s commitment to environmental sustainability.
