On Foot Hauser & Wirth Publishers Headquarters’s entrance is located on the corner of Bäckerstrasse 51 and Rotwandstrasse.
By Public Transport Tram/ Bus stop Stauffacher (lines 2, 3, 8, 9, 14 and more) and Helvetiaplatz (tram 8 and bus 32) are only a few minutes’ walk from Bäckerstrasse 51.

Bar 2 (1983 – 97)

While the bar installed here has its origins in 1983, its Zurich history begins in 1997, when Dieter Roth persuaded Iwan Wirth that ‘Bar 2’ should be run as a ‘genuine’ bar before the opening of his show at Hauser & Wirthin the Löwenbräu arts complex. After being exhibited as work-in-progress in Marseille earlier that year, Bar 2 was expanded and reconfigured for Fabrikstrasse 21—a five-minute walk from the gallery—where it served as a functional bar from December 1997 until the following summer.
The current site-specific installation of Bar 2 has also been executed by Oddur, who has encouraged us to find ways to reactivate some of the bar’s original functions so that ‘the social sculpture can become alive again.’
