Frieze Seoul

We return to Frieze Seoul this year with a presentation of exceptional works spanning multiple generations. Historic master works by Phyllida Barlow, Louise Bourgeois, Lee Lozano and Jack Whitten will feature alongside leading international contemporary voices, including Frank Bowling, George Condo, Jeffrey Gibson, Jenny Holzer, Rashid Johnson, Glenn Ligon, Angel Otero, Qiu Xiaofei, Lorna Simpson, Avery Singer and Ambera Wellmann.

Louise Bourgeois’s late-career assemblage ‘Untitled’ (1998) embodies her lifelong preoccupation with fabric as a medium imbued with memory, while her totemic bronze sculpture ‘Femme’ (2005, cast in 2016) evokes both the experience of motherhood and the psychological and sexual tensions that the artist explored throughout her work.

Lee Lozano’s large-scale abstract painting ‘Cram’ (1965) is emblematic of her thick monochromatic fields of colour, rendering an image that teeters between three-dimensional spatiality and the planar two-dimensional surface.

George Condo’s ‘Blue Diagonal Abstraction’ (2023) explores the striking visual and psychological effects of an oblique arrangement, showcasing his restless desire to probe the possibilities of composition.

Compelling examples of Jenny Holzer’s powerful Redaction Paintings include ‘At the’ (2025), based on FBI records of the 2006 – 2008 investigation into Jeffrey Epstein, and ‘shipper’ (2025), deriving from an FBI document concerning former CIA operatives Edwin Wilson and Frank Terpil.

Rashid Johnson’s ‘Soul Painting “Interiors”’ (2025) exemplifies the artist’s longstanding interest in interiority and new investigations into animism, the belief where all things, including inanimate objects, have souls.

The booth will debut Avery Singer’s new work ‘Maria (v.1)’ (2026), a striking painting from the artist’s Poker Player series that demonstrates the recent addition of AI-based tools into her visual rhetoric.
