Panel Discussion at the Foundling Museum: ‘Art & Motherhood’

On the occasion of ‘The Mother & The Weaver: Art from the Ursula Hauser Collection’ please join us for a panel discussion on art and motherhood with Pragya Agarwal, Tanya Barson, Ann Coxon and Hettie Judah.

The panel will explore the challenges of being an artist and a mother, the complexities of motherhood and the representation of motherhood in art.

Your ticket includes the opportunity to explore the museum and exhibition, as well as refreshments.

About the panellists
Professor Pragya Agarwal is a behaviour and data scientist and Visiting Professor of Social Inequities and Injustice at Loughborough University, award-winning author of ‘(M)otherhood: On the choices of being a woman.’

Tanya Barson is a Curatorial Senior Director at Hauser & Wirth and curator of ‘The Mother & The Weaver.’

Ann Coxon is Curator, International Art at Tate Modern, completing a PhD on International Textile Art from 1960 to 1979, author of ‘A Monograph on Louise Bourgeois and Motherhood.’

Hettie Judah is chief art critic on ‘The i,’ worked with a group of artists to draw up the manifesto ‘How Not To Exclude Artist Parents’ and curator of the Hayward Gallery’s touring exhibition ‘Acts of Creation: On Art and Motherhood.’
