Jason Rhoades: The Big Picture

Perfect World, which Jason Rhoades created for the Deichtorhallen Hamburg in 1999, is regarded by many as his most important project. A few months after the show, in 2000, Rhoades produced 1:12 Perfect World – a scale model of the Hamburg installation, reduced by a factor of 12. Initially, only quarter sections of the silver miniaturizations were shown, each entitled 1/4 from 1:12 Perfect World.

This publication is devoted to that huge work, looking at it from a historical distance and examining the artist’s central modus operandi.
