Richard Jackson: Deer Beer

“The main installation of this show is complete a random out-of-control action, I really don’t have any idea how it will look when it is finished. Deer Beer is autobiographical and has to do with deer hunting and drinking beer … The target in the piece, Deer Beer, is actually a copy of a Kenneth Noland painting owned by my mother and father-in-law. This part of the piece is meant to be humorous. However I never liked minimalism and still don’t. I never thought that less was more because in my art more is more”
– Interview with Richard Jackson, September 1998
