Roman Signer: Collection Hauser & Wirth

‘Roman Signer’s geographical and emotional proximity to the Roundhouse in St. Gallen has been of very considerable benefit to the present exhibition of his work in the Hauser & Wirth Collection. The Roundhouse – home to annual exhibitions of selected parts of the Collection since 1999 – is situated within the precincts of the rail station in St. Gallen which, in 1989, already featured as the final goal of Roman Signer’s legendary action with a detonating fuse. Living only 500 yards from the railway tracks, Signer has also long been familiar with the Roundhouse premises through his regular participation in the annual exhibitions.’
