The dedicated showcase highlights the artist’s profound connection with the island and its natural environment, as well as local materials he was able to work with during time spent in Menorca. The presentation includes early works on paper from the 1970s, Chamotte clay sculptures made during the 1980s and later work in Corten steel. ‘Saludo a los Pájaros II (Salute to the Birds II)’ (2000) is visible beyond the gallery window, surrounded by trees and views of the harbour. Appearing almost weightless, the sculpture denotes Chillida’s mastery of material and form as well as his continuous passion for natural phenomena.

Conceived as a site-specific response to Mika Rottenberg and Cindy Sherman’s exhibitions, and inspired by the concept of ‘plasticity of identity,’ ‘Play Your Part’ is a performative and participatory installation that invites the audience into an immersive, symbolic journey guided by audio narration. Visitors become active participants, engaging both intellectually and physically with the theme of identity through a carefully choreographed experience.

Manuela is a welcoming neighborhood restaurant and bar where great contemporary art and food combine to create a convivial atmosphere and sense of abundance. The restaurant is named for Manuela Wirth, who co-founded Artfarm with her husband Iwan Wirth.

Following an open call by ZHdK – Zurich University of the Arts, MA and BA students, as well as mid-career academic staff and junior researchers from the Department of Fine Arts, responded to Uman’s exhibition in a performative presentation. The event brought together an incredible mix of young people, students, and friends, with roughly 200 participants joining us for an inspiring evening.

On April 29, our sister company Artfarm will open its doors to Fish Shop in Washington DC. Initially born in Ballater, Scotland, Fish Shop is a welcoming restaurant and bar, where seafood, craftsmanship and art combine. Designed to cater to local residents alongside the many seasonal visitors to the capital, Fish Shop will offer a modern, informal 180-cover restaurant and bar with three private dining rooms also available to hire.

Since 2020, we have supported land conservation with Art into Acres, an initiative connecting artists, gallerists and collectors and large-scale land protection. To date, we have directly supported the locally-led protection of 2,063 hectares, or 5,104 acres, of new cloud forest preservation in Central America, in a partnership with environmental non-profits Fundaeco and Re:wild, which matches the donation. This forest is the last large, unpreserved cloud forest in northern Central America—home to Mexican Elm trees spanning 10 feet in diameter and 160 feet in height, and hundreds of bird species.

The Gershon Iskowitz Foundation in partnership with the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO) has awarded Allison Katz the 2023 Gershon Iskowitz Prize at the AGO. The award, which includes a $75,000 cash award as well as a solo presentation at the AGO is presented annually to an artist who has made an outstanding contribution to the visual arts in Canada.

In 2017, Hauser & Wirth partnered with public university Cal State LA to develop a joint community engagement initiative, giving rise to the innovative documentary filmmaking course, Community Impact Media. A training program for student filmmakers, the course pairs students with local nonprofit organizations to produce high-quality, short documentaries. Students are provided with hands-on experience in media production and storytelling mentorship to bolster both their craft and the inspiring work of the nonprofits they feature. In turn, these organizations are left with a visual tool to educate and build constituencies, support funding efforts and encourage participation.

William Kentridge has been elected as a Foreign Associate Member of the Académie des Beaux-Arts by Erik Desmazières, member of Engraving and Drawing section. Kentridge was previously elected in 2021 as a Foreign associate member in Seat XIII previously occupied by the greek jeweller and artist Ilias Lalaounis (1920 – 2013).
We are on a journey to sustainability with the goal of reducing our carbon emissions by at least 50 percent by 2030 in line with the target set Paris Climate Agreement of the United Nations.

Arthaus is an inclusive community of young people aged 15 – 19 years who share a passion for art. It is an opportunity to meet regularly at the gallery to connect with like-minded individuals, socialise, collaborate and embrace new experiences. It is a space for alternative voices, self-expression, inspiration and creative freedom.

Frank Bowling’s exhibition ‘Collage’ is complemented by an academic program, the first of its kind for our Parisian gallery, driven by the shared passion for education and learning by Frank Bowling and Hauser & Wirth. This included a Study Day on Monday 28 April 2025 at the gallery, as well as workshops for school pupils from wider Paris regions.

‘The Struggle Against Terrorism’ (1934–35), a monumental landmark mural by Philip Guston and Reuben Kadish will be unveiled to the public on Friday, 31 January 2025 in a celebration honoring the masterwork’s resplendent restoration. Located in an 18th Century Baroque palace in Morelia, Mexico that today houses the Regional Museum of Michoacán, this significant artwork has been brought back to life, and conserved for generations to come, through an intensive collaboration between The Guston Foundation, Mexico’s Ministry of Culture and the National Center for the Conservation of Artistic and Architectural Heritage.

And Then Came the Environment’ at Hauser & Wirth Downtown Los Angeles, local art students from Cal State LA and ArtCenter were invited to the gallery for a walkthrough of the exhibition. Curatorial Senior Director Kate Fowle and the Learning team then facilitated a discussion about the pathbreaking late artist’s work and legacy.

Replete with expressive materiality, Kimeze’s works invite the viewer’s contemplation in a parallel to the introspection of the figures who are protagonists in her paintings. As Kimeze says, ‘I return to the idea of this intimate inner life and how we spend most of our lives just with ourselves and with our own thoughts.’
