Arthaus
Hauser & Wirth Somerset has created a group specifically for young people aged 15 – 19 years old who are interested in learning more about art and architecture, and who wish to meet other people with similar interests. The group is called Arthaus, they meet at the gallery once a month and have the opportunity to meet our artists, gallery team, and specialists in a series of events such as workshops, conversations and talks.
Representing a younger audience who are interested in contemporary art, the group works to develop their communication skills and understanding of the art world through a range of exciting and innovative youth-led projects, that in turn engage and involve other young people with the gallery.
Past activities have included action painting with artist Martin Creed and a group visit to the Tate Modern’s Louise Bourgeois exhibition. In 2017, Arthaus curated an exhibition called ‘Text in Time’ at the Bruton Museum which presented objects from the museums archives.
