Hauser & Wirth Publishers hosts a book club at the gallery’s London space. The club meets regularly to discuss classic and recent publications inspired by the artwork on view, offering an informal environment to explore creative writing and its links with contemporary art.
This month our book club will focus on Solaris, the classic work of science fiction by renowned Polish novelist and satirist Stanislaw Lem.
When Kris Kelvin arrives at the planet Solaris, he finds a painful, hitherto unconscious memory embodied in the living physical likeness of a long-dead lover. Telling of humanity’s encounter with an alien intelligence, the novels explores the ultimate inadequacy of communication between human and non-human species.
Free to attend. Light refreshments provided.
