    Based in New York and reporting to the Director of Communications, we are seeking a capable and creative communications professional to join the Hauser & Wirth communications and Asia development teams to support our promotional activity and audience development initiatives in Asia, with a specific focus on China.

    The post-holder joins this highly successful and prestigious world-class organisation during an exciting period of development for the department, as we look towards a number of projects in the region.

    The role will include, but not be limited to, the following responsibilities:

    Digital

    • Manage the gallery’s social media channels in Asia, identifying potential new digital platforms relevant to target audience
    • Contribute towards audience development initiatives in Asia with creative ideas for expanding our audience and digital reach
    • Feed into the global digital content strategy as relates to Asia
    • Produce regular reports on our digital audience development initiatives in Asia
    • Manage and grow the gallery’s WeChat account, including planning and scheduling posts with global digital team, collating assets, writing / translating copy, posting, monitoring analytics
    • Work with global communications team to plan and implement online ads targeted to Asian audience
    • Work with the global communications team to oversee development of a Chinese version of the main website and HW apps

    Writing / editing / translating

    • Translate sales and press materials into Chinese
    • Write artist texts and project press releases in Chinese
    • Write Chinese advert copy
    • Proofread Chinese marketing materials, including adverts, emailers and web copy
    • Undertake ad hoc Chinese translation and copyediting as required

    General communications / administration

    • Book and manage production of print ads as required
    • Support offline events and promotional activity in Asia through various organisational and administrative tasks as required
    • Support with interface with Asia PR agency

    The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:

    • Experience within a gallery, museum or arts organisation
    • Understanding of Chinese contemporary art landscape
    • Dynamic and creative approach
    • Proven understanding and vision of brand voice, especially in social media
    • Excellent written communication, analytical, organisational and interpersonal skills
    • US visa / work permit for the States
    • Proficiency in speaking, reading and written Mandarin – other Chinese dialects would be a plus
    • Ability to write knowledgeably about contemporary art

    We are looking for a Gallery Assistant to join our team in Los Angeles. This position requires great attention to detail, organization, diplomacy and an in-depth understanding of the gallery world. The Gallery Assistant is expected to plan, communicate and act independently and collaboratively, as projects require.

    Main Tasks
    Duties include but are not limited to:

    Front Desk

    • Answering phones and managing general gallery voicemail and inbox
    • Handling all outgoing mail, including FedEx, USPS and messenger deliveries
    • Responsibility for mailings such as exhibition invitation cards, catalogues, books and other
    • Coordinating incoming and outgoing book shipments – incl. storage
    • Making sure gallery is always neat for every occasion, maintaining the high standards of gallery appearance both during exhibitions and in between shows

    During your six month internship, you will be assigned a broad range of tasks that ensure you gain an understanding of how a large international gallery like Hauser & Wirth Los Angeles operates. This position will work closely with the gallery assistants and with the Communications Manager. Responsibilities could include assisting with the execution of private views and press previews, updating and managing exhibition documents, organizing events and sending mail outs in addition to daily administrative duties.

    An ideal candidate for this internship is required to be fluent in English, have excellent communication skills (verbal and written), experience in proofreading and editing, strong research skills and be organized with an ability to prioritize. A successful candidate will be an energetic self-starter with a poised and friendly demeanor. An interest in art and the art world is key. Familiarity with Mac OS is a must as well as proficiency with InDesign and all Adobe CS6 and programs.

    Job Profile

    Main Tasks include oversight of all educational and community outreach programs.
    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Coordinate and oversee all community outreach initiatives including partnerships with schools and colleges, internship programs, public tours and family programming
    • Liaise with local schools and colleges, as well as other organizations based within the community, to establish and maintain relationships and actively promote HWLA

    As Project Manager:
