  • Digital Communications Manager

    Based in our London gallery and reporting to the Director of Communications, we require a capable and creative digital professional to join the global communications team, working in a highly successful and prestigious world-class organisation.

    The role is full-time and permanent, to start in January 2017.

    The role will include, but not be limited to, the following responsibilities:

    General:

    • Develop and implement global digital communications strategy
    • Contribute towards gallery’s audience development initiatives

    Websites and e-communications:

    • Oversee development and maintenance of gallery websites and mobile platform in conjunction with Director of Communications
    • Manage SEO and monitor analytics
    • Maintain relationship with external web development and web design team
    • Update external art fair websites, affiliate websites and online events listings sites
    • Manage global e-communications schedule
    • Design and send artist / art fair announcements, exhibition invitations, digital promotional booklets and ad hoc email communications via online email marketing tool

    Social media:

    • Manage Hauser & Wirth social media channels
    • Deliver social media campaigns to support all gallery activity, including: artists, exhibitions, art fairs, special projects, HW Publishers and HW Retail
    • Proactively engage with digital audience across priority channels to instigate and lead conversation on contemporary art
    • Plan, resource, execute and measure effectiveness of digital activities, working with analytics tools
    • Engage colleagues with gallery’s social media activities

    Digital archive (film / photography):

    • Photograph artwork, exhibitions, art fairs and showrooms for internal use
    • Edit video and sound for artworks, internal and occasional external events
    • Manage and develop the gallery’s physical and digital film archive

    The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:

    Essential:

    • A minimum of 5 years in an equivalent role
    • Experience in a gallery, museum or visual arts organisation
    • Dynamic and creative approach
    • Proven understanding and vision of brand voice, especially in social media
    • Excellent written communication, analytical, organisational and interpersonal skills
    • Excellent IT skills, including a good working knowledge of Adobe packages (InDesign, Photoshop and Final Cut)
    • Strong filming and photography skills
    • Good working knowledge of Mac OSX, HTML and CMS systems
    • Awareness of recent developments in website technology, mobile applications and social media

    Desirable:

    • Experience of working in the commercial art world
    • Good understanding of web and social media metrics, analytics and benchmarks

  • Digital Projects Officer

    The role is full-time and permanent, starting 3 January 2017.

    The role will include, but not be limited to, the following responsibilities:

    • Oversee the delivery of digital products, including the development of new websites, an e-commerce system, HW apps, micro-sites etc, in conjunction with the Digital Communications Manager and Director of Communications
    • Maintain gallery websites and mobile platform
    • Update content across gallery websites and mobile platform
    • Manage SEO and monitor analytics to optimise user interaction and navigation with the gallery’s digital platforms
    • Maintain relationship with external web development and web design team in collaboration with IT department and Digital Communications Manager
    • Act as main point of contact to web developers
    • Maintain gallery’s Google calendar and basic website updates (e.g. artist CVs, exhibition dates etc)
    • Support Digital Communications Manager with the creation of digital content for websites, emailers and social media, with a focus on the technical optimisation, design and build of assets
    • Act as digital support for HW Retail, including overseeing and maintaining the e-commerce platform
    • Write copy; organise, reformat and upload images related to HW Retail products

    The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:

    Essential:

    • A minimum of 3 years in an equivalent role
    • Excellent IT skills, including a good working knowledge of Adobe packages
      (InDesign, Photoshop, Dreamweaver and Final Cut)
    • Good working knowledge of Mac OSX, HTML and CMS systems

  • Creative Events Manager

Its ethos sits at the very heart of Hauser & Wirth as a place where art can successfully merge with many other subject matters of importance to us; architecture, education, community, landscape, food and farming and opens the doors for creative ideas and collaborations.

    We are looking for a highly organised and experienced person to join the enthusiastic and active Somerset team as an Creative Events Manager to work within the gallery and for associated projects, reporting to the Head of Education.

    You will be responsible for initiating and organising a new arts festival which you will manage as well as organising events at Hauser & Wirth Somerset.

    Main duties and responsibilities:

    The role will include, but not be limited to the following responsibilities:

    • To organise and lead the development of a new arts festival
    • To initiate and organize arts and cultural events for a range of audiences working alongside the Head of Education
    • To develop relationships with stakeholders and liaise with advisors regarding themes, priorities and diaries.
    • As an events manager, ensure legal obligations and the expectations set out in our policies are met, including health & safety, equality & diversity, finance, procurement, information security and managing people.
    • Organise staffing for events and manage teams effectively
    • Implement ticketing systems
    • Manage budgets, process invoices etc…
    • Develop relationships with sponsors
    • Organise and coordinate multiple venues
    • Develop marketing and PR campaigns for events
    • To ensure all events are well documented
    • To ensure that all enquiries are dealt with in a timely manner and to a high standard
    • Actively keep stakeholders informed and generate an annual review/report
    • Representing Hauser & Wirth and associated organisations at all times
    • Working weekends and evenings as required

    Required knowledge, skills and qualifications:

    • Bachelors or advance degree preferred
    • At least 3 years relevant experience in event management within a cultural/rural environment
    • A good team player with the ability of manage people and to work alone
    • Commercially astute with the ability to market and sell a high end product
    • Experience of dealing with multiple stakeholders
    • Self-motivated, with good initiative, negotiating skills and problem solving skills
    • A creative thinker with the ability to enthuse colleagues and implement ideas
    • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
    • High level organization skills and attention to detail
    • Strong professional ethics, discretion and confidentiality, and sound judgement
    • Experience of managing H&S within an events environment
    • Knowledge of Somerset and the surrounding area would be an advantage.
    • A driving license is desirable

    Hauser & Wirth is seeking a qualified candidate to join the Research department in New York.

    Candidates must have a Masters degree in Art History or Curatorial Studies. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience is required, preferably in a gallery or auction house. A demonstrated ability to write contextual texts, as well as experience researching artworks is a must. This role will work closely with the Partners of the gallery and the Head of Research.

    The role will include, but is not be limited to, the following responsibilities:

    • In-depth research on both individual works of art as well as specific artists, summarizing findings in written reports
    • Research and document provenance, exhibitions, and literature histories for secondary market art works
    • Writing short academic texts on works of art or exhibitions
    • Price analysis and general art market research
    • Liaising with auction houses
    • Monitoring the secondary market activities of specific artists
    • Preparing offers and sales documentation
    • Maintaining the extensive physical archive and book library
    • Oversee stock of publications; coordinate logistics of publication mailouts

    The successful candidate will have a mixture of the following attributes:

    • Meticulous attention to detail
    • Ability to articulate views clearly and confidently
    • Excellent writing, editing and research skills
    • Familiarity with the art market
    • Proven track record of working under pressure to meet deadlines
    • Ability to organize, prioritize and communicate with a range of staff at all levels
    • Ability to work both independently and part of a team

  • Internship, Registrar Department (Paid, fixed-term contract)

    An internship at Hauser & Wirth London is full-time for a period of six months. The next position will be available from 3 January until end of June 2017. Primarily you will be dedicated to the Registrar Department, but will be called upon for general gallery assistance as necessary. You will be assigned a range of tasks that ensure you gain an understanding of how Hauser & Wirth operates.

    Tasks will include, but not be limited to:

    • Support the Registrar department with documentation of works of art, shipments, customs paperwork and condition reports
    • Assist with the movement and coordination of artworks for exhibitions, loans and art fairs
    • Undertake regular stock takes of works of art
    • General gallery duties may include assistance with mailouts, Front Desk support, archiving, post, and private views

    Requirements:

    • Fluent in English
    • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
    • Organised with an ability to prioritise
    • Computer literate
    • Candidate should be meticulous with attention to detail, especially relating to data entry and storage of information
