  • Sales Director,

    For our London Gallery we are looking for a

    Sales Director

    Based in our London Gallery we are looking for an experienced sales person to join the team working in a highly successful and prestigious world class organization.

    The role, which is full time, will include, but not be limited to the following responsibilities:

    • Drive sales for Gallery artists on the primary and secondary market and constantly seek ways to enhance sales and profitability
    • Assist with the development, and implement, the Gallery’s sales strategy in the primary and secondary markets
    • Work closely with selected artists to assist in the development of their international profile within institutions and museums
    • Bring new client relationships to the Gallery while maintaining established relationships in collaboration with the sales team in all locations
    • Represent the Gallery at designated art fairs and events
    • Represent the Gallery and strive to enhance and build upon the Gallery’s reputation at all times

    The successful candidate will have:

    • At least five years experience of working in the commercial galleries environment and/or auction houses
    • Track record of meeting substantial sales targets and introducing new clients
    • Experience of working with artists
    • An excellent knowledge of modern and contemporary art with a strong academic qualification
    • Excellent communication and people skills

    Remuneration package including incentives dependent on experience and performance.

    Hauser Wirth & Schimmel, Los Angeles

    Hauser & Wirth is one of the world’s leading international contemporary art galleries based in New York, London, Zurich and soon in Los Angeles.

    For our new enterprise Hauser Wirth & Schimmel, Los Angeles opening in 2015 we are creating a new position and are looking for a

    Director of Operations

    In this new position you will be the sole responsible for all local operations and facility management topics. You will report to the Partner and Vice President in Los Angeles.

    This position is available immediately.

    Duties will include but are not limited to:

    • Oversee new gallery site rehabilitation and renovation, incl. budget and forecast process.
    • Establish and communicate Business Unit objectives and assignments.
    • Define and execute operational programs in line with strategic plans and annual operating objectives and budgets.
    • Coordinate business schedules and operations ensuring efficient and smooth office operations.
    • Plan operational budget by analyzing exhibition and program needs and expenses.
    • Responsible for overall coordination of the gallery in collaboration with Gallery Directors.
    • Supervise facility management.
    • Supervise local IT infrastructure
    • Coaching and managing of all direct reports.
    • Provide an effective interface between all global locations.
    • Responsible for local Human Resource topics.
    • Responsible for logistics and warehouse processes.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s or advance degree preferred.
    • At least 5 years of working experience as a Director of Operations in commercial galleries and/or auction house/museum
    • Superb verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
    • A flawless attention to detail.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and deliver an impeccable work product.
    • Self-motivated and hyper-organized with the ability to manage responsibilities independently while working with a team.
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Strong ability to organize and coordinate multiple tasks, communicate information in a timely fashion and with the appropriate sense of urgency
    • Recommend various personnel actions including hiring, performance appraisal, promotions, transfers and vacation schedules.
